Accidents happen, especially when your guard is down while watching a mesmerizing flame. For any plastic or rubber that may cling to your fire pit, here are a few tips for cleaning. With a hairdryer, putty knife, and a stainless steel cleaner like Barkeepers Friend, you may be able to safely remove those stubborn marks by following these steps, however in some cases it may cause scratches or not be totally removed.(1) When your Solo Stove is completely cool, bring it to a comfortable and safe place for cleaning.(2) Gather your hairdryer, putty knife, Barkeepers Friend, and disposable cloths. (3) Plug in your hairdryer and set it to a high heat mode. Hold the hairdryer 2-3 inches from the plastic or rubber mark for 3-4 minutes and allow the mark to become pliable.(4) Take the putty knife and hold the blade at a slight angle to the melted material, then firmly scrape towards the mark to remove the melted material. You can wipe off your putty knife with one of your cloths to clean the blade and repeat the scraping process.(5) When most of the melted material has been removed from your fire pit, you can use Barkeepers Friend and a clean dry cloth to remove the remaining mark.(6) Apply a small amount of Barkeepers Friend to the dry cloth, and firmly buff against the mark with the cloth in a circular motion until there is no remaining residue.
